I am the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Sport Management and I have a US Soccer C License. Born to Portuguese parents, the sport has always been a passion of mine and I now coach in a manner that has a clearly defined philosophy and identity during matches.
Training a game model of possession-based positional play emulates what I believe to be the best way to teach the game. I foster an environment where we have high standards for our ability to retain the ball. My training sessions are designed with a major focus on team tactics and utilize activities that build on our principles of play and individual responsibilities for each position. This allows us to have a structured plan for how we attack and defend as a collective unit.
